UPS Shutdown Agent running on non standard port setup

Introduction 

The shutdown agent provides a mechanism for gracefully shutting down Windows computers when the UPS is running low on battery power after a power outage.

 

Purpose 

The shutdown agent would normally run on the default Secure Shell port 22. This might be seen as a security risk so you can change this to a non standard port following this procedure.
 

Procedure 

  1. Follow the documented procedure provided with the shutdown agent. Changed the default port to the required port during the setup installation.
  2. When configuring the IP address of the shutdown agent on the Smart Load screen of the UPS as described in the shutdown agent installation instruction add the port to the end of the IP address. For example, if you want port 22022 for server 10.132.80.15, you would setup the server address to 10.132.80.15:22022.
