Admin level access to the UPS

NMC connection with the Shutdown Agent

On the NMC, configure the Smart Load:
1) Set "Shutdown Agent UserName" and "Shutdown Agent Password" to match the username and password that were entered when the Shutdown Agent was installed.
2) Set Shutdown Method to "SSH Windows".
3) Set the Shutdown Agent Address to the IP address or hostname of this computer.
4) Click "Save & Test Connection Only."

Changing username and password

It’s one of the first things a user notices, so it needs to be relevant to them. Users scan a document’s headlines before deciding whether to read the whole page. It adds relevancy to the page.

1) Open notepad.exe as Administrator.
2) In Notepad, open the agent.cfg file and change the username & password as desired.
3) Use services.msc to restart the shutdown agent.
4) Login to the NMC that was configured to use this Agent and update the associated Smart Load's username & password to match.

Troubleshooting (Switching the NMC)

If the Shutdown Agent is going to be used with another UPS/NMC, the previous UPS/NMC's signature must be cleared from the Shutdown Agent's configuration file. The signature is stored in the file listed under nmcpubkey in the agent.cfg. (This defaults to nmcpub.key.) The agent.cfg file is normally installed at: C:\Program Files\Panduit ShutdownAgent\agent.cfg
