Introduction 

Customer requested Voltage rating for our ferrules FSDXL81-10-C and FSDXL82-12-C. The product team confirmed that a voltage rating does not pertain to ferrules.
 

Purpose 

The purpose of this knowledge article is to advise on the Voltage rating of our ferrules, like FSDXL81-10-C and FSDXL82-12-C. While these ferrules do not have a Voltage rating, there is more clarifying information below we can send to the customer if needed.
 

Procedure 

Customer requested Voltage rating of FSDXL81-10-C and FSDXL82-12-C. See below from product team:

Ferrules should be treated as non-insulated components (which are not normally voltage rated), and the insulation sleeve's purpose is to indicate the wire size, not provide electrical resistance protection.  Therefore, a voltage rating does not pertain.

 

Here is an excerpt from the UL 486F standard:

Dielectric voltage withstand test 9.4.1 After completing the mold stress test, assembled samples shall be subjected to an ac test potential of 1000 V for a period of 1 min.
