Introduction

UPS Alarm indicated and displayed error code 45 specifically, though this is only one of several for the 1 to 3 kVa UPS. Missing is the detail explaining the error code purpose and the purpose of this document

Purpose

There is a description of the error code but not a clear reference to what this means. This document will identify this error code and identify its cause and location

Procedure

 
  1. Above, I provided the table of Error Codes for the 1 to 3kVA user manual. To help better understand the error, we must first identify what this EPO is.
    1. EPO Signal Port (EPO)
      1. All units have an Emergency Power Off Signal Port, Some labeled EPO. In my examples, this UPS comes equipped with a 2 pin plug wired to provide a short that results in normal UPS operation. Others include a 4 pin plug
      2. If the plug is removed, The UPS system will be commanded to shut down. In typical applications, the plug will be removed, and the UPS will be wired to a remote source to provide a short for normal operation or open circuit to command the UPS to shut down.
    1. Identifying the EPO port on the UPS
      1. The rear side of the UPS varies based upon the model      number of the unit. Refer to the UPS Physical Features call out table for the specific model number. Below for the 1 to 3 kVA 1 Phase

If this plug is missing, search through the UPS packaging and surrounding area in the extent this is bumped and fell out or was removed
