There is no one setting works for all installations and this article identifies how to set the High and Low Warning and Critical values. Warnings and Critical alarms are identified as a Red or Yellow Triangle at top of the Web User Interface, or a red led upon the iNC Network Module
Procedure to verify and adjust for temperature threshold variables upon the PDU within the enclosed cabinet
Verify PDU is operating on the latest firmware release.
Sensor connectors and cables to be verified for solid connection and free of damage to the connector itself and/or wiring.
Sensor to be free of obstruction within the cage to verify proper air flow across the sensor
For temperature readings, utilize an infrared thermometer at the sensor with the door closed long enough for temperatures to stablize.

Thresholds for External Temperature Sensors
Contents
Introduction
Temperature sensors require adjustment for the environment they are installed within. There is no one setting works for all installations and this article identifies how to set the High and Low Warning and Critical values. Warnings and Critical alarms are identified as a Red or Yellow Triangle at top of the Web User Interface, or a red led upon the iNC Network Module
Purpose
Procedure to verify and adjust for temperature threshold variables upon the PDU within the enclosed cabinet
Requirements
Verify PDU is operating on the latest firmware release.
Sensor connectors and cables to be verified for solid connection and free of damage to the connector itself and/or wiring.
Sensor to be free of obstruction within the cage to verify proper air flow across the sensor
For temperature readings, utilize an infrared thermometer at the sensor with the door closed long enough for temperatures to stablize.
Procedure
- Open the Alarms as indicated in Yellow or Red
- This will help identify the sensor creating the alert
- Open Settings> Gear Icon
- Select Threshold to configure sensors
- Click External Sensors
- View the current configurations and identify which is creating the alert
- Upon the Alarms page, Temperature Sensor (1) of PDU (1) is at issue
- Edit External Sensors (1:1) as the first sensor on PDU#1
- View the current configurations and identify which is creating the alert
- Click Edit pencil
- Set values to correctly reflect temperatures for the sensor
- There is a =/- two-degree variance for G5 sensors so adjust accordingly
- Click Edit pencil
- Click Save
- The alarm/alert will clear almost instantly
- Verified when the Alarm Triangle illuminates Green
Troubleshooting
Should not be required but resetting the iNC Network Controller will force the revised setting to be read as the running configuration.
True readings at the sensor location always helpful when setting thresholds
Complete with the door closed and temperatures stable to the environment
If revising temperature thresholds is not optional or desirable, the sensor effected can be repositioned away from and door blockages or the heat source, example being a server exhaust
