Issue Description and Symptoms
This issue occurs specifically on firmware 3.3.6 and 3.3.6.6 when using FreeRADIUS 3.2.5 or 3.2.3 standalone mode for user authentication.
The PDU incorrectly processes the RADIUS session acceptance, resulting in the user being logged out immediately after the initial login handshake.
On the G5 web console, a RADIUS user enters valid credentials and the login initially appears to succeed, with the dashboard rendering momentarily—typically for less than one second—before the user is automatically logged out and returned to the login page without any error message.
On the RADIUS server side, logs show a successful authentication with an Access-Accept response and no indication of rejection or session termination. This confirms that authentication is successful, but the PDU prematurely terminates the session immediately after login.
Resolution
Upgrade the device to firmware 3.4.1, which contains the fix for this RADIUS session handling bug. After updating, RADIUS-authenticated logins behave normally.
