Introduction

The use of PZICEA ceiling cabinets and needs to install 96 network points in them.
 
The cabinet (PZICEA), but even though the cabinet has enough rack units to install two 48-port switches and two 48-port high-density 1RU patch panels, they are unsure whether the cabinet really has the capacity to support this number of network points. given that, based on the size and number of access points in the cabinet, it would not allow the entry of cables for 96 network points (see attached images for reference).
 
They ask us to confirm how they should proceed:
1.- Force the entry of the 96 cables through the access points currently available in the cabinet.
2.- Make additional holes in the cabinet (on-site work) to increase the number of cable access points. If this is the option, please indicate where these access points should be made.
3.- Indicate the maximum capacity of Category 6A network points (cable P/N PFL6X04WH-CEG) that can be fed into the PZICEA cabinet, so that they know whether they need to purchase more ceiling cabinets for network points that exceed this capacity.

 

Procedure

  1. The short patch cords appear to be exceeding their bend radius specifically at the cord boot when the switch and panel are at their furthest distance apart
  2. Patch cord jackets show stress at the bend
  3. Standards suggest a 40% fill rate when dealing with conduit and other passageways. This is primarily for unanticipated growth. If you have max'd out within the enclosure, I will say this is ok, but this truly limits any type of addition.
  4. Smaller bundles would also eliminate the apparent stress to the cable jacket


I would not anticipate any negative effects in heat rise due to the short distance of the cables within the enclosure, but the bend radius must be limited in excess.
