How to update firmware on a G5 or G6 PDU using SSH and FTP

Introduction
This is an alternative method to update the firmware on a G5 or G6 PDU.
Purpose
You may encounter issues when trying to update the firmware this is an alternative method if updating using the web interface, tools or USB method.
Requirements
Network communication to the PDU from a computer with an FTP client.
FTP client that supports TLS/SSL Explicit encryption such as WinSCP
SSH client such as PuTTY
Procedure
- Ensure SSH and FTP has been enabled on the PDU by accessing the "Gear icon>Network Setting".
- Login to the FTP client with a role with administrator privileges.
- Configure the connection to the PDU using the protocol FTP and the encryption method of TLS/SSH Explicit encryption as seen below and connect to the PDU logging in as an administrator on the PDU.
- Transfer the firmware update "panduit.fw" file to the folder labeled "fw" then close the FTP program.
- Connect to the PDU via SSH using a program such as HyperTerm or PuTTY.
- Login using a role with administration privileges.
- Enter the command "sys upd all".
- It should display the message: "System will enter upgrade mode after reboot, System Reboot now, Are you sure? (Y/N)
- Enter "Y".
- You can monitor when the PDU is available again by sending a constant ping. The connection should drop at some point and reestablish the ping response when the PDU is back up. Alternatively wait for a few minutes and test the web access to see if it's accessible.
