How to view the current firmware version on a G5/G6 PDU LCD screen

Introduction

You may be requested by the IMS system support team to provide the firmware level of the PDU. If the PDU is inaccessible from the network you can obtain this from the LCD screen.

 

Purpose

The firmware level provides the support team with important information so they can determine if the firmware version might be the cause of the current issue.

Requirements

Physical access to the PDU’s NMC.
Power to the PDU or power provided by a daisy chain onG6 PDU or powershare on a G5 PDU to power the NMC.

 

Procedure

  1. Press the menu button the PDU. This may have to be repeated to wake the screen up.
  2. Press the select button if the “Setup” menu option is highlighted, else press the scroll button until it is then press the select button.
  3. Press the scroll button until the “Device” menu option is highlighted and then press the select button.
  4. Press the scroll button until the “Firmware” menu option is highlighted and then press the select button.

The Firmware should now be displayed on screen as seen below. The firmware level is the top value 3.3.6.6

If at any point you select the wrong option you can press the menu option to take you back to the previous menu
