Introduction

This article provides guidance on resolving the ‘Upstream Power Lost’ active alarm on Panduit G6 Power Distribution Units (PDUs).

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide instructions for resolving the ‘Upstream Power Lost’ active alarm on Panduit G6 PDUs by enabling the Power Share feature.

Power Share is designed to allow for continual sensor monitoring and electronic rack access if one of the 2 power feeds is lost. This feature is available for vertical (0U) PDUs only.

Requirements

  • Access to Web Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the Panduit G6 PDU with Administrator privileges
  • Known working Cat5/Cat6 Ethernet Cable

Procedure

1. Using the Ethernet cable, connect one end to PDU Out port of PDU#1 and the other end to PDU In/Ethernet port of PDU#2 following this diagram:

Note: This connection is the same as connecting two G6 PDUs in daisy chain.

2. Log in to the web GUI with administrator privileges

3. Go to Home -->  Control & Manage --> Power Share
