Introduction

This article provides guidance on resolving the ‘Upstream Power Lost’ active alarm on Panduit G5 Power Distribution Units (PDUs).

 

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide instructions for resolving the ‘Upstream Power Lost’ active alarm on Panduit G5 PDUs by enabling the Power Share feature.


Power Share is designed to allow for continual sensor monitoring and electronic rack access if one of the 2 power feeds is lost. This feature is available for vertical (0U) PDUs only.

 

Requirements

  • Access to Web Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the Panduit G5 PDU with Administrator privileges
  • MA031 (Power Share) Cable

 

Procedure

1. Using the MA031 cable, connect one end to PDU In/Serial port of PDU#1 and the other end to PDU Out port PDU#2 following this diagram:

2. Log in to the web GUI with administrator privileges


3. Go to Home à Control & Manage à Power Share

4. Click the pencil icon of the corresponding PDU and under Edit Menu, tick the box to enable Power Share then Save.
