Introduction

Panduit release updates to the PDU firmware to add additional functionality and bug fixes, so it’s recommend that you update to the latest release. The G5 is an intelligent PDU with an accessible Web interface to mange the PDU or multiple PDU if daisy chained.

Purpose

A simple method of updating firmware on a G5 PDU without the requirement for addition software or hardware.

Requirements

Web access to the PDU either over the network or direct link using an ethernet cable.
Latest firmware file within the same firmware level either 2.x or 3.x (this will depend on model type of security handle if being used).
Admin access to the PDU.

Procedure

1. Open the user interface in a web browser by entering the PDU IP address.
2. Login with administration credentials.
3. Go to Settings > System Management > Actions > Update Firmware.
4. In the Firmware Update dialog box, browse to the (Panduit.FW) firmware file.

NOTE: the firmware file name must be named “Panduit.FW”.
5. Select Upload. The process will update the Network Management Controller to the firmware level of the supplied firmware file.
6. When the upload is finished, the system will reboot automatically. Please allow a couple of minutes for the web interface to be accessible as the update completes.
