Introduction

Different models of Panduit UPS can be configured to use external batteries packs (EBP) to extend their runtime and their VA Load, this is why it is important that a proper connection between the UPS and EBP is established.

Purpose

This article outlines the proper method of a securing a connection between the UPS and the External battery pack (EBP)

Procedure

Verify Battery power cable plug is fully inserted to the UPS and EBP. (This may feel like a 2-Step push-in process. Push it securely all the way in.)

Verify the Battery Temperature cable is plugged in to the UPS and EBP BAT_T port.

Turn both breaker switches to the ON position. (Note: There is text on the breaker with arrows denoting which position is ON or OFF.) Orange = ON / Live Green = OFF

Figure 2 Breaker is OFF (green)

Check that the display then shows the battery icon as active (Icon should turn green). You may also run a Manual Battery test via the display panel to check that the battery is present.
