How to Reset ES2P PDU for System Recovery or Factory Default
Introduction
This document describes the different ways to reset the ES2P Power Distribution Unit (PDU).
Purpose
This procedure is used to recover from an Intelligent Network Controller (iNC) failure, or if the admin password was lost.
Requirements
- Physical access to the PDU
- Small metal strip that fits on the pinhole reset button at the PDU’s Intelligent Network Controller (iNC)
Procedure
Use Reset Button on the Controller
- Press and hold the Reset Button for 8 seconds to recover from an iNC communication failure. This will cause a reset of the iNC controller, all configuration(s) will be retained.
- To Default the controller to factory settings, press and hold the Reset Button for at least 20 seconds. This will cause a reset of the iNC controller erasing all existing configurations, including username(s) and password(s). It does not change the Energy (kWh) value and does not affect the outlet state.
Reset Command from Submenu
CPU Reset - CPU reset command will cause a reset of iNC controller erasing all existing network configurations, including username(s) and password(s), network configurations, It does not change the Energy(kWh) value and does not affect the outlet state.
- Reboot Management Interface: Only restarts the Rack PDU’s Network Management Interface. It does not affect the outlet ON/OFF status.
- Reset All: Reset all configuration values except account information and the Event Log.
