How to enable Power Share on G5 PDU
This document outlines the instructions on how to enable Power Share on G5 Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Web Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Purpose
Power Share is designed to allow for continual sensor monitoring and electronic rack access if one of the 2 power feeds is lost.
This feature is available for vertical (0U) PDUs only. However, due to limited available power from the Panduit PDU Intelligent Network Controller (iNC), power share was designed and tested under the following conditions:
ACF05 or AC06 Electronic Security Handle, ACF10 (T+D), ACF11 (3T+D)
Care must be taken to not overload the system with accessories as this may cause instability or Power Share to become unavailable. Additionally, Power Share is only supported by Firmware version 3.x or higher on PDUs with a serial number:
COO: China S/N: > (greater than) CN213N6480 - PDUs manufactured in China after March 22nd, 2021
COO: India S/N: > (greater than) IN21536039 - PDUs manufactured in India after May 3rd, 2021
The G5 PDU iNC has a maximum output power capacity of 800mA @ 5V = 4 watts. Based on this, DO NOT deploy the Automatic Light Bar (PN: ACD01) when deploying solutions leveraging Power Share.
Power Share Physical Connection
- Administrator privileges log in to G5 PDU web console
- MA031 cable
1. Log in to PDU web GUI with administrator privileges
2. Go to Home > Control & Manage > Power Share
3. Enable power share under the edit menu
